Beef Sinigang Filipino style
- 1 lb lean stew beef or 1 1/2 lb blade steak trimmed of visible fat and cut into 1" pieces
- 1/2 ripe tomato
- 1 medium onion
- 1/2 romaine lettuce or equivalent leafy vegetable such as bok choy, napa cabbage or combination thereof
- 1 litre water
- 1 1/2 cups fresh green beans
- 1 pkg tamarind soup base
Simmer the beef until almost tender and then add the quartered onion,tomato,and soup base.
Continue simmering until the meat is tender to your liking, add green beans and finally the leafy vegetables torn into medium size pieces.
Remove from heat and let flavors blend.
Serve with hot rice
