I like low fat cabbage recipes. Often they're uncomplicated recipes that you can prepare in no time. This creamy cabbage slaw is a clear example of delicious simplicity.
The most complicated part (not) in this delicious dish is the dressing. Once you've got it ready, your low fat cabbage recipe is nearly done. No kidding, you just have to mix the dressing with cabbage and the rest of the bits.
This is a nice low fat salad recipe, ideal for a barbecue or for some low fat grilled dish.
1 cup of low fat sour cream
3Tbsp cider vinegar
1 1/2 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp chopped fresh dill
2 tsp prepared horseradish
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp dry mustard
1 kg (2 lb) green cabbage, cored and shredded or chopped
This is what you do
Mix together the dressing ingredients till smooth. Then cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours.
Once you've allowed the dressing to blend its flavours, put the cabbage in a large bowl and stirr in the dressing and mix thoroughly.
Refrigerate the salad for an hour or so.
You can have this low fat cabbage recipe with your favourite meat dish and, of course... good company.
