This creamy Savoy Cabbage recipe is surprisingly sweet. It has become one of my favorite side dishes for a healthy dinner or lunch. This is a three ingredient meal, very easy to prepare.
By the way, you can make this recipe with normal green or red cabbage as well. I just like the Savoy better, because it's more tender and sweeter. With the cream or milk added, even small kids tend to like the taste.
All cabbages have a high nutritional value, even t hough they're very low in calories. Some even refert to this veggie as "negative calorie", which means you need more calories to digest it, than the food itself provides to your body. If you want to make it "negative calorie" you have to substitute the milk in this recipe with water, though.
The recipe is very easy to prepare. Usually one savoy cabbage head is too much, therefore I use only half.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 15-20 minutes
Cut the whole head, but wash and cook only half of it. If you keep the other half in the fridge it will stay fresh for at least 3-4 days. Without the cutting involved, preparation time shrinks to next to nothing. But don't wash the cabbage you don't want to use right away, because once washed, the veggie will soon wilt.
